Raja Durga Prasad Singh were among the notable zamindars of Jharia Raj and inherited estate in 1850s. He was still a minor that time. He died in 1916 and after that Raja Shiva Prasad Singh inherited the estate.
About Raja Durga Prasad Singh
There were many Raja’s in JHARIA.But among them Raja Durga Prasad Singh was notable for his far sightedness,Business knowledge and development idea. He commercially developed coal and expanded the name of JHARIA. He was very helpful person , he helped his friends and public.
He established JHARIA Raj school year 1866. To sort out the problem of drinking water he purified and maintained the Raja Talab , the only source of drinking water in JHARIA. The building of JHARIA police station ( JHARIA Thana ) in the time of British Period was given by The Raja of JHARIA.
He encouraged music and art. ” Gauhaar Jaan ” the famous India Fame singer and dancer , performed in the Darbaar of Raja Durga Prasad Singh.

Rani Hem Kumari Palace was in Pargha ( Kusmatand ) Rani Mahal
Rajbadi ( which is now in a dilapited state ) iwhich she gifted her all remaining properties by registered deed to Raja Bishweshwar Prasad Singh and Raja Maheshwar Prasad Singh ( Son’s of Last Raja of JHARIA Raj)
Raja Durga Prasad Singh was Honoured The title ( Medal ) of M.B.E. Member of the Most Excellent order of the British Empire , for his extraordinary service to mankind as well as British Empire.

Every year, Jharia Raj pariwar come together at Jharia Raja Garh and worship Devi Durga Shiv Shakti and celebrate oldest and historic Durga puja with full family. There is a lot of crowd on Ashtami in Jharia Raja Garh Durga Oldest temple.

Raja Durga Prasad Singh inherited the estate in 1850s among the notable Zamindars of Jharia Raj. That time Raja Durga Prasad Singh was still a minor. He died in 1916 and after that Raja Shiva Prasad Singh had succeeded his empire and inherited all. Raja Shiva Prasad Singh has died in 1947 in January Month. After that his eldest son, Shri Kali Prasad Singh inherited all and became the last Raja of Jharia till the Zamindari was eliminated in 1952.

According to Maharajkumari Snehalata kumari Devi – She said that I have all the documents as well as Trust deed of R.S P college, since my father in law Raja Kali Prasad Singh had established the college. He was the life long Senate member of R.S.P collage. Rather he was donar, founder as well as trustee of R S P Collage.
At present as per trust deed two male members of Raja Kali prasad Singh are the trustee of the college, My husband Shri Bishweshwar Prasad Singh Who is also the PARTNER Of kids Garden School (Jharia) and My brother in law Shri Maheshwar Prasad Singh. The Collage was taken by the university on August 1972 but TRuST is still alive .
